My childhood had a profound influence on my art. The rich culture of the Appalachian Mountains is deeply ingrained in my life and my work. In the past, my art was primarily an interpretation of memories and life experiences through the use of printmaking, mixed media, and collage. The last couple of years I explored digital imagery as a means of expression. But more recently I have moved towards exploring landscape as a means of expression; through acrylic and raw linen, I have been able to capture rural beauty. I also have been working on a series dealing with Feminism and Sexuality. This body of work is some of the most challenging and exciting imagery that I have ever aspired to create. I look forward to showing my work and engaging in a dialog with the viewers.
